Now every one has heard that Content is King, but what about your Links?
Basic fact is Content is king, so be sure to have good, well-written and unique content that will focus on your primary keyword or keyword phrase. If you feel you’re great at creating products but don’t feel the same way about your writing skills and think you can’t write your own content there are hundreds of places where you can get content for free, usually all that’s required of you is that you place a small bio of the original writer at the bottom of the article or tutorial.
If content is king, then links are the king’s mistress. Build a network of quality backlinks using your keyword phrase as the link. Remember, if there is no good, logical reason for that site to link to you, you don’t want the link. quality backlinks are sites that are related so if you have a Toy Store you don’t want the backlink that are for Makeup. What you want is children’s page and other toy stores.
When Linking don’t be obsessed with PageRank. It is just one part of the ranking algorithm. At times a site with lower PR can actually outrank one with a higher PR.
Also remember before you publish new content always always check spelling and grammar. If your content has misspellings and poor grammar your website and company will appear unprofessional and people don’t generally buy from companies they think are unprofessional. There are so many spell checkers out now and they are easy to use. But remember people can’t proof-reader their own work very well so it is best to have a friend also read it if you can, becuase the spell checkers don’t catch things like “there” and “their” very well.
One more thing if it is possable, fresh content can help improve your rankings. Add new, useful, relevent content to your pages on a regular basis, if you can. Content freshness adds relevancy to your site in the eyes of the search engines.
